This area contains buttons, popup menus and sliders to determine characteristics of the MIDI renditions for the selected tune:

Check boxes in upper left: Mute or unmute any part.

Sliders in upper center: Set the volume of each part.

Popup menus in upper right: Designate a MIDI instrument for each part. Tune Assistant plays the MIDI tone generator on your computer's sound card. Choose from the 128 instruments of the General MIDI standard.

Accompaniment Style popup menu: Designate an accompaniment style. Choices are rhythmic, block chord, broken chord and half time.

Roots Only checkbox: When checked the bass will sound only the root of each chord. When unchecked the bass will play roots and fifths in conventional bass fashion.
